Katie Ann, one of my dearest friends, recently approached me and pitched the idea of doing a collaboration. The task? Mix our skills and passions together to plan, create, and execute a gorgeous, thematic, and delicious dining experience.
What do I love more than food and people? Food and people together, all around me, all at the same time… So of course, I immediately said yes! Because how fun does a collaboration sound??
Let me tell you a little bit about Katie. She was my first Nashville friend, and the same gal who made everything come together and stay together on my wedding day (this girl can coordinate!). Plus, she has killer calligraphy, photography, and hand lettering skills and is loyal as hell to her friends and family. Check out her work here. She and I—we love to eat and drink wine together. AND we watch The Bachelor together. Yes, we are THOSE kind of girlfriends. Doing a collab just made complete sense.
Here’s how it will work: Sampled, a.k.a. yours truly, is in charge of planning the menu, creating the recipes, and cooking up the yumminess for the night of the dinner. Meanwhile, Katie Ann will design and curate all the aesthetics to showcase the meal, including everything from invites and centerpieces to hostessing details and DIY tips. Along the way, we’ll both indulge in a little (or a lot) of wine tasting to bring you the best affordable wines to pair with the dinner.
Both Katie Ann and I are such strong believers that meals were meant to be shared, and that often the best memories, restoration, ideas, and conversations are born from a group of people gathered around a table. Our goal is to give you ideas, tips, and recipes that you can take and expand upon to create your own spectacular fall dinner celebration and love your people around the table. All that, without breaking the bank. Think beautiful, affordable, fun, and memorable—that’s what we want to bring you with this collab.
Throughout the next three weeks, we’ll be finishing up our plans, testing out a few recipes, and sampling some wine. On Halloween weekend, we’ll bring all our ideas together for the ultimate fall celebration dinner. Of course, after we photograph and document everything, we’ll uncork the wine and break bread with our friends. Because that’s truly what dinner is all about.
